The Ministry of Labour in Oman has announced that the country will observe its National Day holiday on November 25 and 26 in 2026. This announcement provides citizens and residents with a chance to enjoy a four-day break, including the weekend, as the holiday falls on a Wednesday and Thursday.
These dates are part of the official schedule of national and religious holidays for the year 2026, which was released to help both public and private sector organizations plan their activities and work schedules well in advance. Such forward planning is intended to ensure smooth operations across various sectors during the holiday period.
In addition to National Day, Oman has scheduled several other holidays for 2026. These include Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27. The specific dates for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be announced separately, as they depend on the sighting of the moon marking the beginning of the Hijri months.
Oman’s National Day is celebrated with a host of events and activities across its governorates, which aim to highlight the country’s rich heritage, culture, and national identity. This annual celebration is a significant occasion for Omanis, reflecting on their national pride and unity.
