Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to enhance their trade and investment collaborations, as evidenced by recent meetings between a delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Tanzanian officials and business leaders. The discussions aimed at expanding economic ties and identifying new investment opportunities between the two nations.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at Oman’s ministry, highlighted the importance of Tanzania as a strategic economic partner in East Africa. She emphasized Oman’s interest in expanding cooperation in sectors with significant investment potential. The delegation underscored Oman’s advantageous position due to its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and appealing investment incentives, including the Golden Residency Programme, which supports long-term international business partnerships.
The dialogue between the two countries focused on facilitating opportunities for Omani companies to grow their presence in African markets, while also connecting Tanzanian enterprises with investment prospects in Oman. Both sides agreed on the importance of improved communication between governmental and private-sector entities to foster the development of joint projects.
