Kuwait and Iraq have taken a significant step towards resolving longstanding bilateral issues by forming a joint working team. This decision was made during a meeting between Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The newly established team is tasked with reviewing the outstanding matters between the two countries. It aims to develop a comprehensive roadmap for resolving these issues and will present its recommendations to the leaders of both nations within the next 30 days. The meetings for this initiative will be conducted alternately in Kuwait and Baghdad, continuing until the team fulfills its mandate.
Both Kuwait and Iraq have expressed strong support for this initiative, emphasizing their commitment to resolving existing challenges and enhancing cooperation. This move marks a positive step towards strengthening the partnership and collaboration between the two neighboring countries.
