Reagan foundation slams ‘misrepresented’ ad as talks collapse

Must read

The Ronald Reagan  Presidential Foundation has slammed a Canadian  ad for using “selective audio,” just as the ad itself caused the collapse of us-Canada trade talks.

The foundation stated Ontario did not have permission to use the 1987 clips and that the ad “misrepresents” reagan’s full comments. The foundation is “reviewing its legal options.”

President Trump cited the foundation’s criticism when he announced the “termination” of all trade negotiations. He called the ad “fraudulent” and “egregious.”

The ad was Ontario’s attempt to protest 35% US tariffs. Premier  Doug Ford defended the ad’s message of cooperation.

The halt in talks, confirmed by secretary of state Marco Rubio, jeopardizes a vital trade relationship. Canadian  pm mark carney said he would continue to seek dialogue.
