Bahrain’s Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to discuss enhancing collaboration between Bahrain and UNESCO in the field of education. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2025 UNESCO–King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education ceremony.
The discussions focused on advancing the use of technology in education, particularly through the development of Bahrain’s Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology. Both sides emphasized the importance of integrating digital innovation to improve learning systems and expand access to quality education.
They also reviewed joint initiatives in higher education, including the establishment of academic chairs and programs designed to promote national and cultural identity. The meeting underscored Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to educational modernization and international cooperation through UNESCO’s global platform.
